Caerphilly Service – Funded by Families First. This support is delivered by Cyfannol Women’s Aid as part of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Families First programme, following award of the contract from 1 April 2026.
We provide trauma informed, child centred support in Caerphilly for children and young people aged 0–25, as well as their parents and carers, who have been affected by domestic abuse. Support is flexible, confidential and shaped around the needs of each child or family.
Every family receives a trauma informed triage and a coproduced support plan, ensuring interventions are timely, needs led and safe. Sessions can take place at home, in school, in the community, in refuge or online.

Children and young people can access emotional and practical support, including help with wellbeing, understanding feelings, healthy relationships and safety planning. Support may also be offered to young people experiencing abuse in their own relationships.

Practitioners deliver evidence based group programmes such as STAR, CYP Recovery Toolkit, Adult Recovery Toolkit, SPACE Toolkit and Break4Change, helping families understand the impact of domestic abuse and develop positive coping strategies.

Where appropriate, we offer joint work with parents and children, supporting communication, strengthening relationships and increasing safety and resilience at home.
