Specialist counselling is available for children aged 9+ who have experienced sexual abuse, through our Horizon sexual violence support services.
Our counselling service can help bring about effective change, improving wellbeing and developing coping mechanisms. Our specialist young person’s counsellors accommodate the needs of individual young people and provide age-appropriate support. The emphasis is on creating a safe process and building a trusting relationship, providing space for the young person to explore and express their thoughts and feelings.
I find each young person that has come to counselling remarkable, and through resilience, they seemed to have found some calm, in what often seemed like stormy seas for them.
