Being a mentor for the last 15 months has been fantastic! Knowing that just giving some of your time can make such a difference to someone’s future is amazing. It’s so fulfilling and the staff have been so supportive during the training and onto the mentoring itself! So excited to see what the next year brings.
Our volunteer mentors act as a person of consistency for children engaged with our mentoring projects, helping them set positive goals and offering encouragement, praise and positivity, resulting in a more well-adjusted, happy, confident and positive young person.
We are particularly looking for male volunteers, but also welcome interest from women.
Our Horizon sexual violence counselling service is supported by counselling volunteers, many of whom are working towards counselling qualifications.
We accept volunteer counsellors at Level 4 to support this specialist sexual violence project.
