On November 14th, Cyfannol Women’s Aid team members were delighted to attend the Torfaen Business Direct Women in Business event at the stunning Parkway Hotel and Spa. The evening brought together more than 100 local businesswomen to network, celebrate achievements, and embrace the festive spirit—all while raising funds for Cyfannol’s services.
The event offered something for everyone, with opportunities to connect over delicious food, enjoy captivating live music by Alicia Hooper, and explore a vibrant Christmas market showcasing an array of local businesses. Attendees browsed unique offerings from vendors such as Dax, Willowlane Designs, The Blaenafon Cheddar Company, SPrintslinoprints, and Turned on its Head Executive Coaching, Facilitation and Training—just to name a few.
Guests were inspired by powerful speeches from two of the region’s leading entrepreneurs: Debbie Gliniany, founder of Mamau Ffit, and Vicki Spencer-Francis, managing director of Cowshed Communications. Both speakers shared their journeys of resilience and success, leaving attendees motivated and energised.
In addition to the main event, women who attended generously donated prizes to Cyfannol’s raffle. Throughout the evening, team members from Cyfannol and the Barclays Business Banking team worked together to sell raffle tickets, raising an impressive £351.82. Excitingly, the Barclays Business Banking team have match funded to double this total, amplifying the impact of the funds raised with the raffle.
The evening had a meaningful impact, raising an incredible £1,565.28 for Cyfannol Women’s Aid.
We are immensely grateful to Torfaen Business Direct for organising this wonderful Women in Business event and for choosing us as their charity partner for a second year. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and made this evening such a memorable success!
