We are delighted to announce that we have secured funding from Newport City Council’s Housing Support Grant to develop our refuge provision in the Newport area, with 16 units of accommodation available across the city to meet the diverse needs of the women we support.
As our Fresh Start project comes to an end in September, we will no longer be delivering drop-in or outreach domestic abuse support services in Newport. If you need to access domestic abuse support, you can contact the Live Fear Free helpline: 0808 801 0800
We will continue to offer support to adults in the community via domestic abuse groupwork, our listening service, Horizon sexual violence services – including our Newport-based SEASS team – and through the Assertive Outreach project in partnership with Gwent Police.
Our Ar Trac project continues to go from strength to strength in Newport, with groups tailored to children and young people’s specific needs and staff working with children and young people on a one-to-one basis in the community and in schools.
We look forward to launching the Own My Life course over the coming months, thanks to groupwork funding from the Hodge Foundation.
