Every mile and every penny makes a difference when it comes to running for Cyfannol so why not take on the challenge!
How to get involved…
You can take part in any charity challenge you choose and raise money for our survivors. Whether setting yourself a fitness goal, achieving a life-long ambition, or marking a milestone – push yourself to the limit and help us to be there for the survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Maybe there’s a local event you’ve been meaning to sign up for, a once in a lifetime experience on your bucket list, or you want to organise your own challenge. Here are a few things you might find it helpful to consider while thinking about your plans.
There are loads of iconic locations and courses you want to take part in, they might even be on your doorstep. Check out the Run 4 Wales website for local events.
You could challenge yourself to take on a half Marathon in the capital city of wales, we had a great success with this event in 2022 with over £1,000 raised.
We’ve provided you with the option of running various distances suitable for any type of runner.
Any money that you’ve raised on Just Giving will come through to us automatically. You’ll just need to make sure that you close your fundraising page once you’ve received your final donations.
If you’ve been raising money with a paper sponsorship form then we ask that you return this money to us as soon as possible, but in any event within four weeks of the date of the Event. Further information about getting these funds to us can be found on our donate page.
The easiest way to start your fundraising is to set up a JustGiving page. You’ll need to make sure that your page stands out though by personalising it as much as possible. The three easiest ways are to:
According to JustGiving, fundraisers who do these three things raise, on average, roughly 50% more than those who don’t!
You can find out how to set up a JustGiving page in related links.
Don’t be afraid to move away from just relying on donations from friends and family. Get creative and plan some activities to support your fundraising. Whether it’s a bake sale or a quiz night, there are any number of great ways to get the sponsorship rolling in. For ideas, check out our A-Z fundraising guide.
If you need advice about any of this, just email us fundraising@cyfannol.org.uk
If you’ve already bought your place in this event, Awesome! We’d love for you to take part with Team Cyfannol.
We just ask that you raise what you can so that we can continue supporting those affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence. You can download our fundraising pack here.
