After a successful first year in 2025, violence against women charities in Wales are teaming up once more! A Mile a Day in May is a collaboration between Cyfannol Women’s Aid and our sister charities working to end violence against women and girls in Wales.
Choose to walk, wheel, run, cycle, swim or even hop your way through the challenge for Cyfannol Women’s Aid or for the participating charity of your choice. A Mile a Day in May, your own way.
Domestic abuse, sexual violence, deep fake imagery, pornography, childhood abuse, sexual harassment… It’s everywhere, it’s constant, and it’s getting worse.
At Cyfannol Women’s Aid, we supported 3,131 individuals in 2024–25, and this number continues to rise along with growing concerns about VAWDASV (Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence) within Gwent.
Last year, our supporters raised £859 through this challenge. This year, we want to raise £3,131 which is £1 for every person we supported. With your help, we can get there.
Together, we can strengthen our collective ability to take a stand, support individuals, and drive meaningful change. No‑one should face violence alone and we need strong, sustainable services to help make it stop.

A fundraiser’s reflection
“Having witnessed the profound impact that Cyfannol Women’s Aid has on the lives of women and families throughout Gwent, I know these resources are not just helpful, they are life‑changing. Every mile I cycle during this challenge feels like a meaningful step toward making a difference.”
They also shared that the challenge encouraged them to get outdoors more in the warmer weather, discovering places in their community they’d never seen before which is a powerful reminder that this challenge supports wellbeing, connection, and positive change.
