Secret Santa Appeal

This year, Cyfannol Women’s Aid is running a Secret Santa appeal for businesses, factories, offices, schools, and colleges for the children and young people we support as part of our Christmas campaign to Create Christmas Magic.

It’s easy…

Our appeal is very easy to set up and you and your team can make a big difference for many children and families across Gwent.

To receive flyers and gift tags with the first initial, age, and gender of a child or young person being supported this Christmas, all you have to do is sign up for our Secret Santa list.

Then you can distribute labels to colleagues or put them in a reception area to be taken as they please.

The person who has the tag can then purchase a gift for that child and give both the tag and the gift to your Secret Santa coordinator (no need to wrap it – please see FAQs to understand why).

How you choose to help is completely up to you.

Benefits to your organisation:

  • Employee engagement

  • Personal development

  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunity

  • Public & Industrial Relations opportunity

  • Included in our ‘Thank Yous’ at the end of our campaign.

What you need to do now:

Agree that your organisation wants to get involved

You’ll get a festive poster for your team to let everyone know when its happening.

Confirm who will be the main contact/co-ordinator

This person is who we’ll stay in touch with and make sure everything is in place to make Christmas Magic.

Decide how many labels you’d like to receive

There is no pressure to how many labels you have and there is always to option to add more.

Complete our online registration form

Our Secret Santa Appeal form will give us all the information we need to support you through the appeal.

“With over 200 children being supported this Christmas, these gifts will make a huge difference to the adults and children that we support. Thank you very much”

Frequently Asked Questions

The appeal officially starts on Monday 20th November until Friday 15th December 2023. We cannot accept any gifts after the above deadlines as they will be distributed to the families we support very shortly after this date to ensure delivery for Christmas.

You can donate a gift or run an appeal in your workplace or organisation. Please see “Where and when can I donate a gift” for further details.

You could help spread the word using social media. Use our handle and you can follow us on Facebook @Cyfannol, X (twitter) @CyfannolWAid, or Instagram @Cyfannol.

If you are interested in running an appeal, please complete our online registration form. You will then receive an email from the fundraising team with further details.

If you are an individual wanting to buy a gift to donate, you can donate to any of our offices.

You can deliver your gift to any of the offices across Gwent listed below between 9:30am and 4:40pm on Monday through Friday:

Torfaen – 3 Town Bridge Buildings, Park Road, Pontypool, NP4 6JE

Monmouthshire – Monmouthshire Multi Agency Centre, 26b Monk Street, Abergavenny, NP7 5NP

Newport – 56 Stow Hill, Newport, NP20 1JG

Blaenau Gwent – Ebbw Vale Institute, Church Street, Ebbw Vale, NP23 6BE

Please call 03300 564456 and select the area you would like to drop off to, so our teams are aware of when you are turning up.

Please attach your tag to the gift, so we know which child or young person you have bought for.

Unfortunately, we cannot offer collection of gifts. Due to a lot of our staff being front-line support workers and crisis workers, we are unable to pull them away from their vital support roles to collect gifts.

That’s entirely up to you £5-£10 is probably the average spend on a gift but we are mindful that we don’t want to add additional pressure or expectations on anyone, so please only spend what you can afford.

We appreciate any help during this festive season. We have a few items that children and young people have previously suggested:

  • Toiletries gift sets
  • Boxes of chocolates/confectionary
  • Toys for children
  • Scarves/hats/gloves
  • Teddies
  • Lego/ Mega Blocks
  • Small Craft Projects
  • Sensory/fidget toys
  • Stationery Set

We do not accept donations of toys that look like weapons or that could cause harm to the child or young person.

Wrapping is not required. The simple reason is that all gifts must be checked before distribution for safeguarding reasons. Wrapped gifts have to be opened and checked which causes delays. Any gifts that arrive wrapped will unfortunately need to be opened.

If you would like to donate any wrapping paper, we can pass this on to staff members or caregivers so that they can wrap the gifts once checked.
