White Ribbon Day 2022

This White Ribbon Day showed the real community spirit in Gwent, with people and services coming together to raise awareness and call for an end to male violence against women and girls. Our awareness and engagement worker had a diary full of different events and is continuing to engage with local communities throughout the 16 Days of Activism.

Highlights included:

• The Gwent Federation of WI’s Light a Candle Service in Usk.
• An event at the Senedd in Cardiff bay to focus on the important role of workplaces in responding to and preventing gender-based violence.
• An afternoon with Hourglass Cymru and Age Connects Torfaen to raise awareness of the abuse of older people and signpost to support services
• Our Assertive Outreach team were in Newport on White Ribbon Day handing out white ribbons & collecting pledges and empowering messages at Friars Walk.
